Our Story
About Solutions Heat Treating
Founded in 2000, we have built a reputation as one of the most capable high-speed steel heat treating operations in the country.
Built for Precision
Solutions Heat Treating was founded in December 2000 in Shelby Township, Michigan — purpose-built from the ground up for high-speed steel heat treating. The facility was designed specifically for this work: a unique 11' × 57' pit runs the full length of the furnace line so tools can be positioned vertically at floor level.
That pit is what makes us rare. Vertically hardening a tool over 90 inches requires specialized furnace depth that most heat treaters simply do not have. We are one of only approximately two companies in the USA with this capability.
We have grown to serve customers across the US and Canada, with deep roots in metro Detroit's broaching industry — the densest concentration of broach users in the country.
Why Customers Choose Us
Rare Vertical Hardening Depth
Our pit-mounted furnaces allow vertical hardening of tools over 90" — fewer than two other US companies can offer this. For long broaches and precision tooling, there is no better option.
HSS Specialists
High-speed steels require significantly higher temperatures than standard tool steels. We built this operation specifically for HSS grades like M-2, M-42, T-15, and CPM Rex series.
Broach Expertise
Broaches are the most complex and high-value cutting tools in manufacturing. Our team understands the metallurgy, distortion behavior, and certification requirements better than any generalist heat treater.
DTE Primary Power Customer
We are a primary power customer of DTE Energy, giving us the best available industrial electricity rate. That efficiency advantage means competitive pricing without cutting corners on the process.
US & Canada Reach
We ship via UPS and truck freight nationwide. Local metro Detroit customers can take advantage of our van pickup and delivery service. Your tools get back fast, packed right.
Complete Certification Records
Every certified job gets a complete process record: preheat temperatures, high-heat temp, quench method, number of draws, temper temps, and final Rockwell reading. Full paper trail, every time.
